As someone who doesn't encourage his legions of fans to splurge hard-earned monies of themselves or parents on hero worship by way of glorifying their dedication, Pawan Kalyan comes across as a genuine super-celebrity whenever he feels sorry for something unproductive (or self-destructive) that his fans do. If there is something that the star has said most often, it's that he is just another human with no great attributes. For a good many years, he avoided giving interviews to the media or attending cine events, much less give (hyper-)emotional speeches directed at fans. While being grateful to their love, he carefully avoids sentimental or emotive language, lest the fans brainwash themselves into believing that they are doing a great service by being Power Star's (fan)atics.

Two recent unfortunate incidents have once again brought out his personality. After the brutal murder of Vinod Royal in August, Pawan visited the deceased fan's parents and while speaking to the media, he made it a point to talk about Vinod's service-oriented mindset, thereby suggesting subtly that his fans ought to follow the example of Vinod (and the distressed mother, who, as Pawan has said more than once, ensured that her son's wish to donate eyes after his death was carried out).

Yesterday, after the Kakinada meet, a fan died after falling off from a building. In a press statement, Pawan said that such incidents sadden him the most.

That's Pawan for you. Avoids hero worship, invokes his fan following only when he wants to comment about their conscientious and patriotic attitudes, thereby sending positive vibes all across.
