Director Gnanarajasekaran's much awaited Periyar, a movie on the revolutionary thinker, is being shot at a hectic pace in Karaikudi, Tiruchy and its adjoining villages.

Sathyaraj plays the title role while Jyothirmayi and Kushboo dons the role of Nagammai and Maniammai respectively.

Buzz is that the crew would be shooting a song sequence for Periyar in Malaysia.

Scenes involving Sathyaraj and Kushboo would be shot there. The cast and the crew would be off to Malaysia on 9 November.
