Post Thavamai Thavamirundhu, Raj Kiran's career has been on the upward swing. His subsequent films including Kireedam and Thottal Poo Malarum have done well at the box office.

Now he has been assigned to play the role of a city Mayor in a movie titled Managara Thanthai.

Managara Thanthai would be directed by Rajkrishna and a search is on to identify actors and actresses for other roles.

Meanwhile, Raj Kiran is acting with Taraka Ratna, the grandson of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N T Rama Rao in a movie titled Pagadai.

Known to be choosy of his roles, Raj Kiran is donning the character of Bhagwan, a jail convict in Pagadai.
