This might surprise you... But did you know the makers of the forthcoming film Detective Byomkesh Bakshi`, starring Sushant Singh Rajput had initially considered Rani Mukherji to play the female lead. However, it went to popular Bengali actress Swastika later, when Rani refused the offer.

It is said that Rani, who will be next seen on big screen with YRF`s Mardaani`, rejected Dibakar Banerjee`s detective film when she found out that the heroine will have some bold scenes. And apparently after her marriage, Rani is not keen to do such thing and so politely said no to the project.
