Bhansali reveals the release date of Alia Bhatt's 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'

Bhansali reveals the release date of Alia Bhatts Gangubai Kathiawadi 

Alia Bhatt's upcoming film 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' has created quite a hype around itself. Directed by master filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the project has been in news for every little development during the filming. Recently, Bhansali Productions revealed the release date of the film. It could've released earlier but Bhansali wanted everyone to experience his creation on big screen so he held on to it. 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' will release on 6th of January 2022.

Sharing a poster of the film, Bhansali Productions wrote on Instagram, "The wait to witness her power, strength and resilience ends. Bringing to you a stem-winding story of Gangubai Kathiawadi on January 6, 2022, in cinemas near you." This will be very different from any role that Alia has played till now. She will portray a sex worker who eventually becomes an important figure in the Mumbai underworld.

Alia will be accompanied by Ajay Devgan in the movie who'll play a character inspired by the real life mobster Kareem Lala. He'll be a mentor of sorts to Alia Bhatt's character.
