It has been many months since Ram Gopal Varma launched the film Rai, a film based on the life of Mutthappa Rai, the Karnataka-based don-turned-business tycoon. It would have been a wasted year 2016 if a controversy didn't erupt surrounding him. Jokes apart, RGV has been dragged into a controversy over the film's subject.

One Yusuf Bacha Khan, who was once with the Chotta Rajan gang, has served a notice on the director, alleging that the film Rai portrays him negatively, as Rai's enemy. He wants RGV to give him a narration.

As for RGV, he is yet to open up on the legal notice. The big-budgeted film is being made at a cost of Rs. 55 cr in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. It is much-awaited by Kannada audience. As for taking into consideration Khan's story, RGV may not give it a try. From the title, it's clear that the story will be told from Rai's perspective.
