RS Chauhan most likely to be CJ of Telangana HC

Justice RS Chauhan is most likely to be the next Chief Justice of Telangana High Court. Known to be the senior-most judge of the Rajasthan HC, Chauhan is currently the Acting Chief Justice of the Telangana HC. His name has been recommended by the Supreme Court collegium.

“We have considered all relevant factors. The Collegium recommends Mr Justice RS Chauhan as suitable in all aspects," the SC collegium has been quoted as saying.

Born in 1959, Chauhan graduated from the US and completed his Law degree from Delhi University way back in 1983. He practised as a lawyer at Rajasthan HC from 1986 to 2005.

The Telangana HC and Andhra Pradesh HC came into existence on 1 January 2019.
