Bollywood actor Salman Khan has been acquitted of all charges in the 2002 hit-and-run case. After hearing the arguments from both parties, Bombay High Court Chief Justice AR Joshi has pronounced his verdict that the prosecution failed to prove the charges against Salman Khan on all counts.

Early this year, Salman Khan was convicted by a Sessions Court for culpable homicide not amounting to murder and a five year sentence was given as punishment. However, the Bombay High Court granted him bail on the very same day and the actor has appealed to the same court challenging the verdict of the Sessions Court.

On Thursday, Justice Joshi has concluded and pronounced the verdict following Khan's appeal. Further Joshi said that the prosecution has failed to collect the evidence to prove that Salman was in inebriated state on the ill-fated day.

As and soon the verdict was out, fans of Salman Khan have begun celebrations outside the court and conducted a rally to his residence.
