Shruti Hassan slams news articles for spreading false information about her

Actress Shruti Hassan, who is known for her Hindi outings likes 'Gabbar Is Back' and 'Welcome Back' was recently seen in Chiranjeevi starrer action comedy flick 'Waltair Veerayya'. A little before the film's release on last Friday, the entire team attended a media event but Shruti wasn't present there due a minor sickness. However, this led some news outlets to report that the actress was suffering from mental health issues.

Naturally, Shruti wasn't pleased with this misinformation and decided to slam media for propagating false news. Sharing a few articles which mentioned her suffering from mental health issues, the actress wrote on Twitter, "Ok. So here’s the thing. Misinformation like this and the over-dramatisation or flippant handling of such subjects is what makes people afraid to talk about mental health. Guess what? It doesn’t work. I will always be a mental health advocate. I will always promote taking care of myself in all aspects. Oh and I had a VIRAL FEVER. So nice try. Get over yourselves and while you’re at it please talk to a therapist. No really. Please do.”

On the other hand, Chiranjeevi at the pre release event talked about the movie and stated, "Our main motive was to entertain people. This movie will entertain people of all age groups. This is a pakka commercial film. But, not just another commercial movie. Every second this movie will make the audience laugh, scream and inspire. Waltair Veerayya is an emotional roller coaster ride. There will never be a dull moment."
