The hottest news of recent times is buzzing around in Kollywood which is the coming together of Kamal Haasan and Simbu in 'Indian 2' directed by Shankar. Word is that Simbu fresh from the blockbuster success of Mani Ratnam's 'Chekka Chivantha Vaanam' has been approached to play a pivotal role in the soon to begin the mega film. Sources close to the team are positive that STR will definitely say yes as he considers Kamal his reverential guru in cinema.

'Indian 2' produced on a large scale by Lyca Productions has Kamal Haasan reprising his role from the original with Anirudh scoring the music for the first time for the legend. It has already been reported that Nayanthara and Dulquer Salman are also in talks for other major roles. People in the know are of the opinion that the official casting will be announced in a couple of weeks time.

Simbu meanwhile has almost finished 'Vanthaa Rajavaathan Varuven' directed by Sundar C and produced by Lyca Production costarring Catherine Tresa and Megha Akash. He has also signed 'Maanadu' directed by Venkat Prabhu expected to go on floors in early 2019.
