It was a break from their routine for nearly a month for actors like Kushboo, Vadivelu, K Bhagyaraj, Radha Ravi, Singamuthu, Chandrasekar, Vindhya, Senthil and Anandaraj among others, as they were busy campaigning for political parties in view of the April 13 Assembly polls.

As the electioneering ended Monday evening, the star campaigners, who toured the whole of Tamil Nadu, will be back to work. “They will take part in shootings from the end of this week, after the polls are over,” sources say.

As the above campaigned for either the ruling DMK or the main opposition AIADMK, national parties Congress and BJP managed to bring Chiranjeevi and Hema Malini to Tamil Nadu on their behalf, respectively.

And there are others from the tinsel town, who contested this time. They are Vijayakanth, Arunpandian and producer Michael Rayappan (all DMDK) and Sarathkumar (AISMK). Also, Karthik’s AINMK tested waters on its own, by fielding candidates at nearly 20 constituencies.
