Tollywood is busy serenading with family values, of late. If films like 'Brindavanam', 'Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu' and 'Attarintiki Daredi' were three of the big-ticket movies which had their family man's heart in the right place, a raft of movies in the New Year are not far behind.

It all began with 'Nenu Sailaja', which has the qualities of both a rom-com and a family entertainer. Like 'Brindavanam', it too sees a hero who enters into the female lead's household and tries to set the wrong things right.

The trend will be upheld in January by at least two more movies - 'Nannaku Prematho..' and 'Soggade Chinni Nayana'. Any contrast between these two films concerns only with the exterior. Thematically too, they may be different, but there apparently is the undercurrent of filial devotion ('emotion' is the buzzword here) in NTR's film and familial bonding in Nagarjuna's film.

Come February, there is Sunil's 'Krishnashtami', where the NRI hero pays a visit to India and lives in a family setting. The film is touted as a family entertainer-cum-comedy.

It will be interesting to see which one of these will be the clear winner.
