Director SR Prabhakaran had made his debut in Tamil cinema with the movie Sundara Pandian released in 2012, and the movie starring Sasikumar, Lakshmi Menon and Vijay Sethupathi turned a superhit.

Following the success of Sundara Pandian, Prabhakaran directed Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal with Udhayanidhi Stalin and Nayanthara and Sathriyan with Vikram Prabhu and Manjima Mohan in lead roles.

The latest speculations making the rounds is that SR Prabhakaran is next set to direct a female centric movie which will have Tanya Ravichandran who is known for movies like Karuppan, Brindavanam etc as the lead, and an official announcement is expected soon.
