By now, it's clear that Pa.Ranjith is madly in love with Rajini-isms. When the Superstar is around, the swags have to be there as a glorious ritual. So, we are not talking about just the obvious ones.

There is this element of the villain deriding Rajini on one pretext or another in his movies. 'Kaala' repeats this trope. The super-talented Nana Patekar should come with enough narcissism and arrogance to elevate his rival's heroism.

Then, there is this element of Rajini enjoying with his family members (his wife Eeswari Rao in this case) as the villains are beaten up. Likewise, the glorification of the lesser fortunate (the proletariat in this case), his beloved people, is there.

Above all, the time-tested formula of a people's leader from a humble background clashing head-on with a powerful politician. There are festivities and other such appealing ones.

It seems much can't be expected from Dhilip Subbarayan's stunts. M Sreeramakrishna's dialogues will be keenly watched out for.

Also starring Huma Qureshi, Samuthirakani, Sampath Raj, Sayaji Shinde, Anjali Patil, Manikandan, Dhileepan, Pankaj Tripathi, Ravi Kale, Ramesh Thilak, Arul Doss, Aravind Akash, Sakshi Agarwal, Arundhati, Suganya, and Nithish, the film has music by Santhosh Narayanan and the cinematography by Murali G.

Editing is by Sreekar Prasad. Art Direction is by T Ramalingam. Sound Designer is Anthony BJ Ruban. Brinda, and Sandy have done the choreography. Costume Designing is by Anuvardhan, Subika, Selvan. Stills are by RS Raja.
