Vinod has been finalized as the director of 'Thala 61' and he will be reuniting with Ajith for the consecutive third time after 'Nerkonda Paarvai' and 'Valimai'.

It has further been reported that 'Thala 61' will be produced by legendary Malayalam producer Gokulam Gopalan under the banner Sree Gokulam Movies. The production house had earlier forayed into Tamil cinema with Kamal Haasan's 'Thoongavanam'.
