Thalapathy Vijays 20-year-old industry hit to conquer the cinemas again? - Exciting news

Re-releases are the new normal recently as the theatres are opting to screen the old films again without new notable releases in Tamil. Now, Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Annamalai', Ajith Kumar's 'Vaalee' and Thalapathy Vijay's 'Kadhalukku Mariyadhai' and 'Thirumalai' are running successfully in popular centres in Chennai and other cities.

The news

about the re-release for which the fans have been eagerly waiting for stormed the internet last night. Thalapathy Vijay's all-time blockbuster 'Ghilli' is all set to have a grand re-release this April all over the state. A new poster of 'Ghilli' saying that the film will be re-released on its 20th release anniversary, 17th April 2024 is now doing rounds.

'Ghilli' directed by Dharani is all about a Kabbaddi player Saravana Velu's quest to save Dhanalakshmi from the ruthless Muthupandi. This movie starring Vijay, Trisha and Prakash Raj became the first 25-crore grosser in Tamil cinema. Composer Vidyasagar's album became a chartbuster back then and is still regarded as one of the best albums in Kollywood.

The 4K remastered version of 'Ghilli' with Dolby audio is coming to cinemas again this April. Fans are very excited about this re-release. Given that no notable films have locked the April 14 release slot yet, this industry hit is all set to witness a dream box-office run again. On the work front, Thalapathy Vijay is now shooting for director Venkat Prabhu's 'The Greatest Of All Time'.
