Thalapathy Vijay has one of the most enviable fan following that encompasses the age groups from toddlers to senior citizens.   His films continue to break boundaries and bring in one of the biggest grosses among South Indian heroes.  The masses who follow Vijay also carry the hope that he would soon lead them politically too and from time to time they express their feelings through posters.

Recently controversies arose when Vijay's father S.A. Chandrasekhar tried to convert the Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam into a political outfit and he also applied to the election commission for the same.  Vijay had then distanced himself from his father and also instructed his fans not to align with that party.  SAC has since given up on his effort.

Fresh reports have emerged that Vijay on Saturday and Sunday held talks with his fan club functionaries and urged them not to join any other political party.  The mass hero is said to have secretly promised them that their wishes and ambitions for him will soon come to fruition.  Industry analysts are construing Vijay's statement as being a strong message that his political entry is imminent and that is what he has communicated to his fans.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Vijay's next release is 'Master' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and costarring Vijay Sethupathi and Malavika Mohanan that is planned for a Pongal 2021 release.  In the first quarter of 2021 Vijay will also begin shooting for his next project 'Thalapathy 65' directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures.
