In what was one of the most anticipated matches in the Cricket World Cup 2019, the India-Pakistan clash took place yesterday in Manchester, the Men in Blue emerging victorious. This is the 7th time that India has beat Pakistan in a World Cup match and the 100% winning streak continues. Fortunately, the rain did not dampen our spirits too much and the majority of the game took place to the delight of millions. The rain, however, did shorten Pakistan’s innings to 40 overs, which led to an 89 run victory by the DLS method.

Twitter has been erupting with posts about the match with cricketers and celebrities applauding the team. Sivakarthikeyan and Anirudh who graced the ground with their presence shared their excitement with their posts. Sivakarthikeyan tweeted: “It was an amazing experience to watch #CWC19 #INDVsPAK today..Brilliant effort and great win by #TeamIndia ??Life time experience ????#VetriNamadhae ???? @anirudhofficial.”

Actors Dulquer Salman and Nivin Pauly also congratulated the team on their win. Cricketers lauded Team India’s performance as well. Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi, Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag were among the many who shared their appreciation. Indian Captain Virat Kohli also thanked the fans saying: “Top performance by the team. Thanks to all the fans for turning out in large numbers. ???? ???????? #CWC19 #INDvPAK.”

There was one more ingenious compliment from the Mumbai Police who used an image of a green signal and said: “India, see green? Accelerate. Like you always do. #INDvsPAK #CWC19 #IndiavsPakistan.” Well, we also hope the acceleration continues in the upcoming matches, the next one being against Afghanistan on Saturday.
