The RP Patnaik Series

RP Patnaik is bringing out a series titled 'Enki Paata' for Aditya Music.  A rooted album that has lyrical videos and dance moves/stills of the lead pair as additional features, the private album is an earnest attempt at catering to those listeners who love folksy songs.  So far, two songs have been unveiled.  Here we present their review.

Gunde Gonthuka Lona

Singer: RP Patnaik
Lyricist: Nanduri Subbarao

Composed and rendered by RP Patnaik, the rustic feel of the song makes it a memorable affair.  Lyricist Nanduri Subbarao pens folksy Telugu and his language catches the imagination of the listener right away.  Besides RP's soulful rendition, the video song features pleasant visuals.  The lead actors, Prashanth Reddy (as Nayudu Bava) and Antasheela (as Enki), put up a lovely act.  The female lead has an angelic screen presence.  All in all, the song is as impactful as any rooted song from 'Rangasthalam'.

RP Patnaiks Neethote Untanu brings out romantic bonding

Neethote Untanu Naidu Baava

Singers:  Sruthi Nanduri, RP Patnaik
Lyricist: Nanduri Subbarao

Once again, it's Nanduri Subbarao who has penned the lyrics.  Sruthi Nanduri and Patnaik croon it to the best effect.  If the visuals have been done tastefully, the lyrics showcase the romantic and emotional bonding between the protagonists.  The language is ultra-localized here and there.  It's a throwback to those theatre days, old-fashioned yet immensely endearing.

Nannidisi Pettellinadey

Singer: Sruthi Nanduri

Lyricist: Nanduri Subbarao

The third one in the 'Enki Paata' edition is winsome.  With an inspired tune, it presents the pathos of the lonesome woman, who is badly missing her man.  Sruthi Nanduri's vocals are soulful and effective in conveying the emotions of the tragedy.  The lyricist does an able job, once again, in rooting the flavour in the rustic.  RP Patnaik adopts a trodden path.
