They thought Rakul won't do a village girl's role

Speaking about her role in 'Khakee', Rakul Preet Singh said at the audio release function of the film that it's very realistic.
"This is a very special film and a very special role. I thank Vinoth (director) for believing that I can pull off this one," she said.
When it was his turn, Karthi said, "I was not sure whether Rakul will essay the role of a normal village girl in this film. She had been doing glamorous roles only. Even after watching 'Rarandoi Veduka Chuddam', I was not sure. But the way she has performed, it's great."
Karthi described her as a professional who takes her own decisions. "We find actresses saying that they will come back after speaking to their parents, etc. But Rakul is not like that. She comes from a disciplined military family," he said.
The film is based on certain true incidents. "For 60 days, we shot on the entire Indo-Pak border stretch," Karthi revealed.
'Khakee' hits the screens on Nov 17.
