“Cinema will ride retailing wave”, says Kamal Haasan.

Presenting the 'theme address' on the opening day of a two-day conference on 'riding high on the retailing wave,' organized by FICCI Tamil Nadu Council, Kamal Haasan, said, “Cinema might seem like too distant a cousin to this retailing world but let me assure you we will be rubbing shoulders soon - our industry will also join in riding this wave. It is happening slowly but surely”.

“Merchandising offshoots of our films will soon make us partners. I am sure we will be ably assisted by our State Government. Right now black marketers abound, nullifying any good the Government wishes to do. I foresee, pragmatically, rather than optimistically, even this will change soon”.
