Trailer Review: Kaala

The wait is over and the trailer of Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Kaala', produced by Dhanush and directed by Pa. Ranjith, has arrived and it is every bit unpredictable, a mix of revolution and love. The trailer opens with Nana Patekar's character promising to change the dusty slum and cuts to the naughty Rajini we know remembering about his former love (Huma Quereshi). There is also the romance of the naughty variety with wife Easwari Rao too.

Things get serious after the villain murders someone from the good side and Rajini in his inimitable style calls for a revolution amplified by the lyrics and Santhosh Narayanan's deeply penetrative power music.

The hero is projected as a ruthless one and that's why Nana Patekar is seen calling him Ravana.

The fight for the land is writ large. 'Land is power for you, but for us, it's life,' Rajinikanth's character says.

The background score of Santhosh Narayanan is the big plus of 'Kaala' trailer as the tunes and the sounds amplify the revolutionary nature of the hero's character. Veteran editor Sreekhar Prasad proves why he is the best in the business by giving crisp cuts that have the right stay on Rajini making his character look more powerful than ever.
