Trailer Review: Manu

'Manu', a crowd-funded film featuring Brahmanandam’s son Goutham and Chandini Chowdary in leading roles, has been written and directed by Phanindra Narsetti, who has made short films in the past.

Its trailer is a bundle of questions and mysteries. A key, which is seen at the beginning and end of the trailer, is metaphorical perhaps. The story involves mainly three characters, the third one played by John Kottoly, a bearded actor.

A love story (she loves artist Manu), a rape (is it imagined?), a mysterious thief who steals things selectively and bizarrely, characters who stretch the words at times, a supposedly insane house, a beach - the tropes are quite new!

We are told that the film is a tale of love, loneliness, desire, hunt, obsession, pain, paranoia, passion, longing, madness, chaos, insanity, among others.

The film has been promoted as an epitome of experiments. From artwork to cinematography (by Vishwanath Reddy), 'Manu' is "different". Music is by Naresh Kumaran. Set Designing is by Shiv Kumar. Sound Designing is by Sachin Sudhakaran, Hariharan (SYNC CINEMA).

'Manu' will hit the screens on September 7.
