According to a recent story, Avril Lavigne and Tyga have split months after dating. Three months ago, they promoted Tyga's latest song together. Tyga posted a TikTok video for "Bops Going Brazy." on July 4. Avril joined Tyga in dancing to the new track, which looked to sample Vanilla Ice's "Ice Ice Baby" (an interpolation of Queen and David Bowie's "Under Pressure") in a stunning white gown with an unlaced corset front.

Avril and Tyga lip-synced to his new single while matching their styles. As they danced, Tyga and Avril made gun signals ("Glock o baby"). The "Complicated" singer ended the video with loose blonde hair and a mischievous smirk.

The two wore the same clothes to The hwood Group and Bootsy Bellows' Red, White, and Bootsy event at Nobu in Malibu on July 4. The TikTok video and images did not show intimacy, but their attendance at the gathering earlier seemed to corroborate their summer romance.

Various sources say Tyga and Avril split in June. Reports indicate that the breakup was mutual and the two remained friends.

After having dinner at Nobu in February, Avril and Tyga appeared to be dating. They attended several Paris Fashion Week events together and kissed on the streets to establish their relationship. They arrived at Kyrie Irving's Hollywood birthday party in March still holding hands.

Avril dated Tyga after leaving Mod Sun. After two months of on-and-off dating, she and her ex-fiancé split in late February.

It was revealed in February 2021 that Tyga was dating social media personality Camaryn Swanson before Avril. After Camaryn accused Tyga of domestic abuse later that year, he was arrested for felony domestic violence. In February 2022, Tyga was cleared of charges after meeting with the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office to improve domestic conflict resolution.
