The big question on most fans' minds is when the magnum opus 'Vaadivasal' that unites Suriya and Vetrimaaran will go on floors. The film was announced in early 2020 and was expected to go on floors in mid-year but the COVID 19 pandemic forced a postponement.

Vetrimaaran meanwhile has started shooting his new movie based on the short story 'Thunaivan' written by Jeyamohan in Sathyamangalam forest areas. The film has Soori and Bhavani Sre as the lead pair while Vijay Sethupathi plays an important character.

It is now reported that Vetrimaaran has procured the rights to film another of Jeyamohan's work titled 'Azhaippu'. According to the sources he has planned to shoot the film entirely on an iPhone and it would be a pathbreaking project in Kollywood history.

It now looks like 'Vaadivasal' a demanding project produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu will have to be shot when the situation eases out which could be the last quarter of 2021. We will of course have to take this with a pinch of salt until the official word comes out.

Suriya meanwhile has finished shooting his portions of Mani Ratnam's 'Navarasa' directed by Gautham Menon and is currently producing and acting in a supporting role in a new movie directed by Gnanavel of 'Kootathil Oruthan' fame. He will soon move on to his biggie 'Suriya 40' directed by Pandiraj and produced by Sun Pictures.
