Director Vasantha Balan, who made his debut with Album went on to direct acclaimed movies like Veyil, Angadi Theru, Aravaan, Kaaviya Thalaivan etc and has been one of the celebrated makers of Kollywood.

The director has completed his next movie Jail, starring GV Prakash, Abarnathi and Radhika Sarathkumar and this movie which was getting delayed due to pandemic is set to release soon.

Recently there were reports that Vasantha Balan's next movie with youngsters will have Arjun Das as the lead and is the remake of the movie "The Lift Boy". However Vasantha Balan himself has tweeted clarifying that he is not doing the remake of The Lift Boy, and that the reports are false.
