Music composer turned leading Tamil cinema hero Vijay Antony lost his teenage daughter Meera to suicide early morning on September 19th. A video has gone viral in which Vijay Antony is speaking strongly against suicide, revealing that his own father also died by suicide when he was 7 and his sister 5 years old. The reason was not a big issue though its personal he added.

Vijay Antony in his speech stated that he knows the immense pain that his mother had to undergo to bring them up. He attributed the stigma to him being an introvert and observer who rarely speaks out. He stressed "Suicide is not a solution, no matter what the problem is, suicide should not be attempted by anyone".

The leading actor also explained "I know a lot of things, I have experienced a lot, I have seen a lot of people, I am not silent because I don't know anything, I know how to speak, but I am silent because what is the use of talking?'

Netizens are lamenting that Vijay Antony has advised others that no matter how much suffering or hardship one faces in life,to not commit suicide. But today, his daughter has passed away by taking her own life is truly gut wrenching.
