President of the TFPC, Vishal, who was arrested this morning after he attempted to break open the lock of the Producers Council office and enter the premises, has been detained by the police.

Recent reports suggest that an FIR has been filed on the actor under sections 146 and 151 of the Indian Penal Code by the Pondy Bazaar Police.

Section 146 of the IPC is intended to penalize a person who is guilty of the offense of rioting, while section 151 is intended to punish a person with 6 months imprisonment or fine or both for knowingly joining or continuing in an assembly of five or more persons after it has been commanded to disperse.

Progress on the situation is expected to be known shortly as the investigation is still underway.
