Vishal's leadership of important Tamil film bodies has meant that the ongoing relief measures in the rain-lashed Chennai are on a full swing. The lashing rains had created panic and anxiety among the public.

In light of this, the city police, members of the non-governmental organizations, volunteers and several state departments are on a war footing to provide relief to the rain-affected people. As a first step measure, people from low lying regions of the city are being migrated to safer areas.
