Karan Johar’s production ‘Wake Up Sid’ woke up to a political ruckus on the day of its release itself. The movie cited Mumbai as Bombay, which attracted wrath from the supporters of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MSN). They even went on to stop the movie’s screening at the city’s two cinema halls, as a mark of their objection.

To put things straight, Karan Johar immediately visited MSN leader Raj Thackeray’s home and rendered his apology. He assured him that such mistake won’t happen here forth. It is said that Johar stated, “Within four days, I will put a disclaimer before the start of the movie that the word was wrongly used.”

However, a source from the Sena seems to have said that the producer should apologise to crores of Maharashtrians and not to a political party alone. Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor-Konkona Sen Sharma starrer ‘Wake Up Sid’ is garnering lot of good response from the critics and other viewers.
