WhatsApp has the country's most favouy chat apo with over 200 million active monthly users. Capitalising on this, the social media giant owned by Facebook has planned to incorporate payment systems as well.

Folks at WhatsApp have released the beta test version for both Android and iOS users and is expected to reach all customers shortly. The idea which comes as a direct competition against platforms like Paytm will make use of UPI(Unified Payment Interface) system supporting about 30 banks including SBI, HDFC, Axis and ICICI etc across which users can transact funds.

WhatsApp has been working on this project since it received  UPI approval from July 2017 and well what can we say, it's a good add-on indeed for the users.
