'Whistle', as is known, is the Telugu version of 'Bigil', the Tamil-language sports drama. Superstar Vijay plays dual roles with three shades of looks in this Atlee film. Set to release this Diwali, the film's trailer is a frame by frame dub of the Tamil version's trailer.

Football is the backdrop but the crux of the story lies in the honour of the older version of Vijay. The younger version is gutsy and can go to any extent for the sake of the sport and the girls' team he coaches.

The Telugu nativity is missing here and there. The name Bigil itself sounds quite alien.

Mahesh Koneru of East Coast Productions is the producer. With music by AR Rahman, the film has dialogues by Sreeramakrishna. Cinematography is by GK Vishnu.
