Samantha Ruth Prabhu is promoting 'Yashoda', which will hit the screens on November 11. In her latest interview, the actress said that she is recovering from Myositis, the auto-immune condition. "I am on the path of recovery," she said, adding that her condition is not life-threatening.

The star actress also speaks about the film's strengths, ranging from an ensemble cast to technical finesse.

Highlights:

Ahead of the release of 'Yashoda', I am both excited and nervous. The trailer and teaser are authentic; they reflect what our film holds. It's true that I okayed the script 45 minutes after listening to it. That was so unusual of me to do so. I was convinced that the content in the film is going to be wow. Since it was a script that gave me chills, I didn't overthink.

Directors Hari Shankar and Harish Narayan have told a film that can hold the attention of the audience and can make them think. Its concept is novel. Together with a talented cast, they have taken 'Yashoda' to the next level. Even the girl gang accompanying me has done a nice job: Divya Sripada, Kalpika, Madhurima and others are talented.

We have all heard of the story of Yashoda, who raised Lord Krishna. Our movie makes a connection to that. The audience will understand the character Yashoda from a new angle after watching the movie. Both the mythological Yashoda and the cinematic Yashoda are saviours.

Like me, Yashoda comes from a humble origin. She is determined like me. Like me, she is a fighter.

I have dubbed my character in both Telugu and Tamil versions. I am from Chennai and so, I didn't find it hard to dub in Tamil. For years, I have been working on my Telugu. By the time I started dubbing for 'Yashoda', my health had taken a beating. But my stubbornness kept me going.

Surrogacy is an important element in 'Yashoda'. The medical option offers hope to so many couples. Beyond that, I don't have anything to say about it. As for our movie, there is not just surrogacy but also a crime angle involved. It's an edge-of-the-seat thriller. The technical output makes it all the more a unique experience.

Even though I have done a thriller like 'U-Turn' in the past, 'Yashoda' is still a different ballgame. It's the first time I have done something of that sort. I am also glad that I have had the opportunity to try out a variety of roles. For example, it was exhilarating to do stunts in 'The Family Man 2'.

It was nice working with action director Yannick Ben. For 'Yashoda', I worked on kickboxing and participated in a lot of rehearsals. Since I am a pregnant lady in the film, the fight masters (Yannick and Venkat) ensured that the fights were raw and believable.

The ensemble cast is going to make the film special. Varalakshmi Sarathkumar, who has got a strong role, is someone I enjoyed working with. Unni Mukundan, Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, Sampath Raj and others have also got very good parts.

Producer Sivalenka Krishna Prasad was uncompromising. The surrogacy facility you see in the film is a set. At first, they considered a lot of local hotels and hospitals but since nothing seemed apt, they constructed a huge set.

Usually, thrillers are expected to be dark. 'Yashoda' has got a different flavour. Mani Sharma (composer), the art director, the cinematographer, the editor - everyone has done a great job. It has been possible only because the script written by the Hari-Harish duo is original.

It was not written as a pan-India film at first. 'Yashoda' is a thrilling story with emotional heft. We went ahead with confidence. As the project was progressing, it was slowly converted into a multi-lingual release. I hope it becomes a pan-India hit. The response to the trailer from the audience across the country has been encouraging.
