Yevadigola Vadidhey Review

It is difficult not to sympathize with E V V Satyanarayana. The veteran wants his son Aryan Rajesh to make it big as a hero. That anxiety is understandable.

But what is not so understandable is a film like Yevadigola Vadidhey. With such films, Rajesh's career is never going to take off.

The film, seemingly a fun one, is full of double entendre dialogues and kinky scenarios that are at once laughable and not laugh-worthy.

The film's story is simple. Veer Shanker (Aryan Rajesh) goes to see a bride for himself. But falls for the charm of the girl's friend Aarti (Deepika). She is the daughter of a factional leader and naturally Veer's father is opposed to the idea of his son marrying her.

The rest of the film is about how the duo unites. But most of the story is in Bangkok where Veer ends up in after his father's rebuff. The whole story is centered on hotel where he stays. Here he comes across a caboodle of characters ---- a film producer with his mistress, a husband hiring a killer to bump off his wife, a sex-starved wife chasing her husband .it is almost a circus cast to drive you nuts.

And they do with their weirdo antics and explicitly double meaning dialogues. Poor Aryan Rajesh hardly gets a word on the edgewise. Ditto for the heroine Deepika. She has ample scope for skin show.

The comedy group led by Brahmanandam and Ali just hog the show. But what you get is not mirth but just some mindless 'madcapers'. The jokes are puerile and the parody shambolic. Apparently, a take off on a Hollywood flick, the film neither sticks to its original nor comes up with anything original on its own.

In the event, it is neither one thing nor the other.

Kamalakar's music is easy on the ears and the camera work and other production values are pretty lush.

But EVV's screenplay and direction just lack coherence and connection. Perhaps the dad lost sight of the plot, trying to save his son.

A pity, really.
