It may sound strange, but for the modern day version of 1983's blockbuster film 'Hero', the ace director will play the late classic 'Yahoo' star. The film, which garnered super success under the direction of Subhash Ghai, is now being remade by Nikhil Advani.
Buzz is that the director, who was searching for someone to play Shammi Kapoor's character, rounded off filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia. Advani was keen to find someone who can reprise the lively personality of the late veteran superstar from the original film. Tigmanshu, who feels honoured to have been chosen to play the character by Shammiji, will play debutant Athiya Shetty's father. "I play a far more proactive role than Shammi sahab did in the original. I have some surprises up my sleeve," quoted Dhulia in an interview. The filmmaker had last given 'Bullett Raja' as a helmer.
Newbie Athiya, daughter of Suneil Shetty, will play Meenakshi Seshadri's role from earlier version while Sooraj Pancholi, Aditya Pancholi's son, debuts to essay lead role which was done by Jackie Shroff.
