As per World Bank's Ease of Doing Business Report, India has successfully jumped from 77th in 2018 to 63rd rank in 2019. The World Bank said in its report that India is a part of a group of 10 countries that conducted most reforms. In 2016, our rank was 130.

"Given the size of India's economy, the reform efforts are commendable," it further stated.

The Modi government has come in for praise for undertaking "path-breaking improvements in India's business environment for the nation's prosperity and job creation".

"India jumps up 14 positions in the EODB rankings. We are the only large country to jump 79 positions overall in the last 4 years. It is now at 63 rank. A phenomenal achievement!" said Amitabh Kant.
