Ayesha Takia looking forward to 'Dil Maange More'
IANS [Tuesday, November 09, 2004]

Actress Ayesha Takia, who made her debut in "Tarzan - The Wonder Car", does not mind being one of the three heroines opposite Shahid Kapur in "Dil Maange More", slated for a Dec 24 release.

"I went by the script of 'Dil Maange More' and my gut instinct, which told me to go ahead," said Ayesha.

"A lot of people find it hard to digest the fact that one can still make an impact in a film which has three heroines opposite one hero."

If Ayesha's first film "Socha Na Tha" releases on Dec 17 as expected, then "Dil Maange More" would be her third venture.

"Dil Maange" is a "rollicking comedy", said Ayesha. "I got to essay a humorous role. It will also send the message that I can be versatile in the way I look and act in every film," she added, reports Glamsham.com.

In the film, Ayesha plays the role of Shagun, a fashion designer, who is prejudiced towards men, because her father left her mother when she was young. "She is cautious about not falling in love and always projects a tough exterior though she is extremely emotional at heart," she said.

Ayesha said she was looking forward to working with Shahid Kapur once again after having worked with him as a child star years ago in a commercial.

"I was six years old when I did the Complan commercial with him. He was the Complan boy and I was the girl and it was fun interacting with each other after all these years," Ayesha, 19, recalled.

The other actresses in the film are Soha Ali Khan and Tulip Joshi.

"The three of us have only one combination scene in the climax but we got to know each other really well," Ayesha said.

She said she enjoyed the experience of working with director Anant Mahadevan and his team.

"Anant is a cool director to work with. It was like being with your own family free of tensions. There were no short tempers, no bad language, no shouting and no screaming. He was always the sweet and patient kind of director, so much so that I would occasionally ask him why he wasn't reprimanding me for a mistake," she said smiling.

Ayesha is clear about the choices she wants to make in her career and how she intends going about it.

"I know where my priorities lie and how to get the best out of what I am doing. I think my confidence comes from the number of years that I have been working as an artist. As a child model, I did 30 ad films. I did my first music video with Falguni Pathak at the age of 15. Facing the camera has become second nature to me," she said.
