'Ek Deewana Tha' is your first solo hero commercial release how it feels?Yeah... It's my first fully fledged commercial solo hero flick and I have hopes, am not keeping them too high. It’s up to the audience now to say how I had done. What makes you confident for 'Ek Deewana Tha'? The story, the chemistry between Amy and me, Rahman's music and Javed Sahab's lyrics and Gautam Menon's narration... The Tamil and Telugu versions where appreciated, so it gives hope. Ranbir, Imran are established names in B-town's young brigade of your generation, how will you make your mark in the industry?Yes there is competition and I can only say that good work and good choice will help me in making my mark. How did 'Ek Deewana Tha' happened to you?Gautam called me and asked me to watch the original saying he would like me to do the Hindi version. I watched it and immediately agreed. What changes you have done to the Hindi version? Slight chances... Added two more songs..
Lot has been said about you and Amy... What is the true status? We are good friends, quite close, we admire each other. What makes Amy attractive? She is really cute, great fun and extremely beautiful. Are you in love with Amy No those stories are not true. We are very good friends. What is love to you?Well it's the most beautiful feeling to feel for someone who becomes so special. Honestly, I cannot define love for that I have to be in love to tell what exactly it means but those who have experience it admit it to be the most amazing thing in life. Lucky to have worked with established directors like Prakash Jha and Gautam Menon; how it has been?I feel grateful to work with such establish names. I'm lucky that these people had their hands in the process of molding me as an actor. What preparations you did for this role?Dance rehearsals, lot of workshops between Amy and me for the chemistry part. Making a conscious effort to act, following the instincts and doing the justice to the role. Your mother Smitha Patil is an inspiration for many actors... What you think of her as a son and as an actor? I came into this world and within a month she was gone.... As a son I was not able to receive her love... As an actor whenever I see her work I learn a lot. She is so amazing and effortless... The way she portrayed her character was so natural. She plays a special part in my life, as a mother I miss her physically but as an actor she is there to give me all the inspiration... I wish she would have been there to see my work... |
