Saawariya - Promises to be a class affair
IndiaGlitz  [Thursday, November 08, 2007]

Some love stories have to be experienced and not just talked and read about. SAAWARIYA is one such love story. Mystic, pure, intriguing, musical. Words fall short to explain the essence of SAAWARIYA which promises to be set as a timeless romantic rendezvous of two young hearts.

Two hearts that go by the name of Raj [Ranbir Kapoor] and Sakina [Sonam Kapoor]. Raj is an artist as well as a dreamer. For him, the world is in black and white even as he loves to paint his life with all the colors. One such bright spot in his life appears to be Sakina with whom he has a chance encounter at a bridge in a picturesque town.

A town which boasts of nature at it's best and is probably unbelievable with a natural charm to it enhanced by the presence of mountains and mist. Almost poetic in nature, the place promises to set the two hearts talking to each other.

While Raj tries his best to woo Sakina, she has a certain enigmatic persona to her which only adds on to the mystery and intrigue. She reveals her haunting past which only brings Raj further closer to Sakina. As he gets deeper down into this mad romance, more revelations only startle him further.

Meanwhile there are also characters played by Salman Khan and Rani Mukherjee added to the plot which bring on different dimensions to SAAWARIYA.

Rumored to be based on a short story called WHITE NIGHTS, SAAWARIYA is in complete contrast to Sanjay Leela Bhansali's last BLACK and promises to be a love story which would take a viewer into a different journey altogether.

The film has music by Monty Sharma and also stars veterans like Begum Para, Achla Sachdev and Zohra Sehgal. With an A team of Ravi Chandran as a cinematographer and Omung Kumar as art director with Sanjay Leela Bhansali taking on roles of screenplay writer as well as editor, SAAWARIYA appears to be an out and out class offering from the master film maker.
