Cocktail Preview

Finally Mollywood is looking to the west to lift some of its narrative experiments. Priyadarshan's regular editor Arunkumar has already completed the filming of his new movie titled 'Cocktail', which will present the narrative styles of famous Mexican director Alejandro Gonzales Inarittu to Mollywood. Basically a multi-narrative with different stories converging into one story at the climax, the movie will have Jayasuriya, Anoop Menon and Samvrutha Sunil doing the key roles.

The film is about three people, who are total strangers coming to a big city. These three meet each other at a city club but a twist in tale makes their life getting entangled and they are forced to go after the same thing. Made in a modest budget, this experimental movie will also feature Innocent, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Kalpana and Fahad Fazil.

Arunkumar has organised the movie, which is a racy comedy-cum-thriller, in less than two hours. The movie was earlier in the news as it has earned around one crore for its satellite rights even before its release.

'Cocktail' is scripted by Anoop Menon, while Pradeep Nair has wielded the camera around Kochi, Coimbatore and Hyderabad. The music of the movie is by Alphonse.  Milan Jaleeel has produced the film under the banner of his Galaxy films.

A lot of tomorrow's experiment in commercial cinema will depend much on the success of this movie which is said to contain a right mixture that may work well with today's audiences.
