Rebel Preview

With the Rs. 40 cr. mammoth set to hit the screens on Sep 28, all eyes are on Prabhas.  One of the biggest releases of the year, Rebel has been touted by Bellamkonda Suresh as having the potential to smash all the extant records within the first 3 days of its release.  This has only raised the audience expectations to a new level.

Director Raghava Lawrence has a litmus test here, because he has made a costly film after a gap of several years.  Since the film is proudly targeted at the mass audience, one hopes that the story will be different and not hackneyed like the stories of two other mass films of the year - Racha and Dammu.

We have to wait to see if Rebel turns out to be the most important film of his career for Prabhas.  More than Prabhas' look and performance, it will be the content that will matter most, especially because Lawrence's films have always concocted interesting lines.  Prabhas' characterization is the next best thing, we guess.
