Payum Puli Preview

Mohan Kuplery, who has been keeping away from films and concentrating on the small screens, is finally back to the big screen with the new Kalabhavan Mani starrer Payum Puli. The film also boasts of Rambha being placed opposite Mani for the first time. With every ingredient to make it a typical masala movie, the film is poised to be an entertainer which will satisfy Mani's fans.

Rambha plays Mallika, who lives with her sister Maya and their grand parents in the Gokulam Tharavaadu located in the heart of Kochi which worth's several crores. Even though living in a house that is worth a fortune, the inmates are at the verge of poverty.

At this juncture Saravanan arrives, who is in need for a house to live in Kochi. Saravanan is actually the henchman of Kozhikode-based Ninan's Finance Group. His job is to make people payback the loans and to seize their properties if they fail to do so. Popularly known as the cc group, Sarvanan is a man of his own principles, even in a bad business. Mallika, not knowing about Saravanan's actual face agrees to accommodate him in a portion of the house, as they are in need of a big amount to pay back their debts.

Saravanan with the help of an old acquaintance Mucheetu Rehman pays the advance and starts to live in the house. Saravanan however gets thrown out shortly after taking up residence for not adhering to the rules of the house, imposed by Mallika.

Ravi Shankar who is the Mallika's half brother, the son of her father's first marriage, sells the Gokulam Tharavaadu to one Mr. Jose, who has bought the property on behalf of his son to develop into a star hotel. It is at this juncture that eviction notice is served on the occupants of Gokulam Tharavaadu. Saravanan who otherwise could not see eye to eye with Mallika now comes to her aid and rescue them from goondas who comes to through them out. Following that she is forced to allow the latter to continue staying there as she couldn't pay back the advance.

As Saravanan gradually becomes the savior for a house which is in turmoil, he began to gather enemies one after the other. The film which progress into a racy thriller has got a few action sequences that are the best choreographed by three action directors--Mafia Sasi, Rocky Rajesh and Anal Arasu.

Payum Puli is produced by Kabir Palakkad in the banner of Kingdom Cinema. The story, script and dialogues are by Biju Devassy. Srishankar wields the camera after a long time for this film. The other stars in the film include Saikumar, Jagthy, Raghu, Salimkumar, Jagadheesh, Saadhiq and Riyas Khan. The film which was shot around Kochi will be the first release of Mani in the New Year.
