As of now at the 7th AKKA World conference at GICC in Atlanta USA two Kannada films of Sandeep Malani will be screened it is reliably learnt.
'SMS 6 to 60' and 'Jo Jo Laali' are the films that Sandeep Malani managed to get an entry for the thousands of audiences at the mammoth event.
'Jo Jo Laali' Kannada film of a single mother, a classical dancer, who discovers that her 4-year-old son born of a love affair has AIDS transmitted by her. The agony of her heart wrenching loss is portrayed through music and dance and the film ends on a note of positivity with a strong message for society. 'Jo Jo Laali' stars Kalpana Pandit, Akash Hora and Shrey Tejani being produced by House of Pandit productions, while SMS 6260 stars Diganth, Janu, Smrti and Kiran and is produced by Shirdi Enterprises Inc. Both the films are produced by American Production Company. Sandeep Malani, has written the script and directed the films.
'SMS 6260' is a film for all age groups between 6 to 60 years. It was made in 2006 a debut film of Sandeep Malani. It is produced by Jahnu who has acted in the lead role of the film. A few portions for the film were shot in USA. It is a 'Kanglish' (Kannada and English mix is Kanglish) cinema. How the people in cosmopolitan Bangaloreans use the Kannada language is tried in this film by Malani. The film is about today's generation, the misuse of mobile phones and the consequences that occur due to it. Kiran, Diganth, Smrithi, Dattanna, Vijayalakshmi, Badri are in the cast of this film. Selvam is the cameraman.
The film will be screened on 1st and 2nd September at the Georgia International Convention Center.
