 Son of actor-turned-politician S Ve Shekher, Ashwin is all set for an entry to silver screen with Vegam.
Directed by K R Udhayashankar, Vegam brings together Prabhu and Kushboo after a long gap. Also in the cast includes S Ve Shekher, Sriman, Venu Aravindh, and Lollu Sabha Jeeva.
The major portion of the movie was shot in Malaysia.
“It was my desire to make a career out of acting. I thank my father, who encouraged and motivated me”, says Ashwin.
Tollywood actress Archana plays the heroine. Musical score is by Rajesh Vaidya to the lyrics of director Perarasu, Gangai Amaran and Snehan.
“Quite appropriate to the title, Vegam will be a racy entertainer. Plans are on to release the movie in September”, says Ashwin.
The other credits are K S Selvaraj (cinematography), Suresh Urs (art) and Action Prakash (stunts).
“I play a youth, who runs an event management company. In an alien land (Malaysia), I rescue a girl caught in trouble”.
Ashwin thanks his father for giving me the confidence to perform well before the camera.
On his experiences shooting for the movie, he says, “I felt very comfortable in the sets. My cinematographer Selvaraj was encouraging. My father's presence in the sets motivated me to give my best. But for the support of my cast and crew, Vegam would not have been completed”.
A great admirer of Kamal Haasan, he says, “I am confident of the movie's prospects at the box office. Hopefully I would get more opportunities to play varied role in my career”.
