Thaman changes the tack
Tuesday, January 31, 2012 • Telugu Comments

We do not know Balaji Mohan's style as yet, but it looks like he had the music on his terms.  The music of Love Failure will be remembered because Thaman changes his tack in a big way.  A far cry from his recent recordings, including Nippu, this one is positively frolicsome.  Bouncy and spirited, the album wins for the most part.

Srimani's lyrics, coupled with the vocals of Karthik, Siddharth, Thaman and Sucharita make this a worthy listen.

Parvathi Parvathi    Listen here

Artist: Siddharth
Lyrics: Srimani

The song begins like a familiar Illayaraja number and continues like an earthy number.  Siddharth's vocals give a definite voice to the sense of loss of a defeated lover, whose Parvathi has abandoned him in the middle.  While Srimani's lyrics are written in plain language, Thaman's instrumentation mixes many influences.

Inthajare Inthajare   Listen here

Artist: Karthik, Suchitra
Lyrics: Srimani

As Karthik croons Inthajare Inthajare in his marked style, it sounds like a romantic word.  Lending a touch of depth in the later part, Karthik, as also Suchitra, make this song a soothing experience.  Srimani's playful lyrics are an asset.  Thaman's tunes may be not very high brow, but he conjures up a good one by the right usage of instruments.

Happy Heart Attack   Listen here

Artist: Siddharth
Lyrics: Srimani

Gundello googly padithe love, bodilo bouncer padithe love.. such lines make this a 'happy heart attack' indeed.  Thaman makes a successful attempt to lend a touch of innocence to it.  With little noise and more rhymes, this short song truly stands out in the album.  Thanks to Srimani the lyricist and Sid the singer.

Melukora Melukora   Listen here

Artist: Thaman
Lyrics: Srimani

In an otherwise lively album, this one is a bit slow and dull-paced.  Nevertheless, the jingles are alright, though Thaman's vocals do not make any difference.  The mood induced by the song is one of ennui.

Inthajare Inthajare   Listen here

Artist: Karthik
Lyrics: Srimani

It is more of the same.  Only that you do not have Suchitra chipping in with her vocals.
