Hansika Motwani Interview

We caught up with the Beautiful, Energetic, Hot and Happening Hansika who is fast becoming a favorite with Tamil Audiences. With Romeo Juliet` and Vaalu gearing up for release and her pairing with Illayathalapathi Vijay for Puli` gives her the best chance to grab the number one position in Tamil Cinema.

You look great, are you on a Crash diet?

You could say that. Not exactly on a diet, but I have been working out to be honest and it is the fitness that brings the glow I guess. Since I started out I have lost thirteen kilos and for the past one and a half years since Romeo Juliet` started I`ve lost three more kilos.

Hansika Motwani Interview

Are you on a vegetarian diet?

No, I do eat non-veg but since my mom is a vegetarian it is mostly vegetarian at home and the old chubby Hansika might give an opinion of being a foodie, but let me tell you I am not at all a foodie and what is more I eat to live and can go without food for days.

Tell us about your role in Puli`…Your second movie with Illayathalapathy Vijay…

Obviously Vijay plays the main title role and I play the princess which is a very different role for me because in other roles there will be drama and you can add this and that. But here the poise has to be maintained and the proper chaste Tamil should be spoken and this is a difficult role for me because the getup itself takes about three hours and furthermore I have to look stern and pretty at the same time. Puli` is a fictional film, it`s a very big film, which is something very new that Tamil Cinema has never seen before.

Will you work someday with Thala Ajith?

Ajith sir, is a very good looking star, he is a very well known star who is every actresses dream to work with. Hopefully I will work with him soon.

Big Day for you 'Romeo Juliet' is releasing?

Finally, after one and a half years into this journey finally comes to an end and I am very excited that it is going to reach the viewers.

What is your role in it? Is it very romantic?

I am the Juliet and basically I play, a drama queen. It is a very cute film, happy film and when you come out of the theater you will definitely have a smile on your face. I`ve worked on the film, I have seen the film, I know it is me who spoke the dialogues, but I still cry that is the achievement for the artiste that even though I know what is going to happen next tears fill my eyes. I am a hopelessly romantic person and so when all the small moments came in the film I went mushy and all the people are relating to it, a lot of couples will relate to the film. It is a feel good film that everyone from all age groups can watch and will come out happy.

Hansika Motwani Interview

How was the experience of pairing with Jayam Ravi for the second time? Is he close to you?

All my co-stars have been good friends to me and Ravi is purely a gentleman and the first time I worked with him I was about seventeen or eighteen and the first day I shot for Romeo Juliet` I didn`t realize that it has been four years but still we are like a house on fire and that is why the chemistry is flowing in the posters and the film. Ravi is a brilliant actor and he gives his co-stars their space and balances everything.

Your are going through a nice phase all your movies are doing well like Amabala`, Maan Karate` and the big hit Aranmanai`. You are doing Aranamanai 2`?

Yes and when I was doing the part one I was very very scared. In the film a positive character becomes negative as I play a ghost and I have never done that before. The first day I got out of my car with short hair, wearing my tracks and glasses Sundar sir jokingly wondered how he was going to change this girl into a village belle. That was my biggest challenge as I had to wear lots of kajal and had to make up my nails which I am not used to and actually Aranmanai` took me to a new level and after that I have been very careful about choosing my subjects.

What is the role you play in 'Aranmanai 2'?

Well, that is going to be a big surprise. In part one people didn`t think that I could do such a role as they are used to seeing me in bubbly, naughty drama roles. When Aranmanai` everyone was taken by surprise that I can do such a role.

You have some rapport with Sundar C that he will give you a meaty role?

Well, I don`t know, to be very honest, I am very fond of him as he is a brilliant director and he just gives me the best role. When he came for the first part he just asked me to give him the dates. I told him how busily packed my schedule was. He doesn`t call me Hanshu but Quindy and you know what he is, one director who will do fifteen days work in ten days.

Hansika Motwani Interview

There are other heroines in the movie do you feel threatened?

I am a very secured person. I know where I stand. In fact, I was the last person to announce that I am a part of the film and tell you what I was the first person to be signed on. Sundar sir said we will play the trump card later and I was keeping quiet. Sundar C is one director who I will not question and if he says do it I will do it. He has given me Theeya Vela Seyanum Kumaru`, Aranmanai` and Aamabala` what more can I ask for.

You are very strong on social media with a large fan base…

Yes I am very lucky I got fans and I interact with them personally. I know that they have poured their love on me unconditionally and all I can do is work hard and be kind to them. I always tell my mother that I am what I am because of my mother and I am what I am because of my fans.

How do you react when you get trolled?
