Young actor Sirish has got a Dream Debut. His debut film Metro` that released last week has got positive reviews from critics and has been well received by audience of all centers. Sirish who has played the lead character has made a mark with the screen presence he got in this film.
Sirish speaks about his entry to filmdom, future plans and many others topics in this free-wheeling chat with IndiaGlitz.
What has made you an actor? How did your Kollywood entry happen?
I decided that my life should be in cinema, while doing 10th standard. I have always been an ardent movie buff and at one point I wanted to get into the screen. Initially my parents were cynical but I was stubborn in my choice. So they gave me some tasks . We conducted some photo shoots and my parents felt I could at least become an artist doing side characters.
My parents insisted to join Visual communication in Loyolla as it will be useful for entry in cinema. While doing the course I got some small offers. But I avoided them since I wanted a good entry. I got trained under Kalairani mam for acting. Director Anandakrishnan had visited our college during the release of his debut film Aal`. I was the one who received him and we exchanged phone numbers. We became friends and used to regularly chat over the phone and keep going out. I told him that I am undergoing training for acting, dance coaching under Jayanthi Master (Brinda master`s sister) and fight class under Pandian master.
After finishing Aal`, he decided to make a film for his own production. He was searching a city based newcomer for the lead role, since he felt experienced actors will not accept this role. He called me for audition at his office. He gave me some situations relating to chain snatching and wanted me to act. Since I had training for acting, I did it casually without any hesitation. Within one hour he said I am the lead actor of the film. I first felt he was just kidding. Then it became the truth. That`s the start of Metro` and my acting career.
How has been the response for the film? How did you feel about the comments about your performance in the film? A.R.Murugadoss has particularly mentioned your performance in the film?
Many people have praised.. Gautham Menon sir, Simbu, Vishal, Shanthanu, Nikki Galrani, Amala Paul and many celebrities appreciated the me after watching the trailer. Now most of them are busy with their commitments but those who have watched the film have praised it. Murugadoss sir`s tweet made me immensely happy. Also the reviews in media were largely positive about my performance. They have said I have done justice to the role. A 5% of the people have said I have not acted well. Everyone has their own opinion. I take that in my stride and will try to improve and give more in the next film. Acting is like an ocean. There is no limit for improvement in that.
