Tragic: Dubai Bus Accident Kills 12 Indians

A bus in Dubai entered a wrong road and hit a height barrier which cut into the left side of the vehicle, killing 17 people and injuring 5. The injured were rushed to Rashid Hospital. Among those who lost their lives were 12 Indians who were on the way back from their Eid holidays. The accident took place at 6 pm on Thursday. The Indian Consulate reported: “The names of those who have passed away are Rajagopalan, Feroz Khan Pathan, Reshma Feroz Khan Pathan, Deepak Kumar, Jamaludeen Arakkaveettil, Kiran Johnny, Vasudev, Tilakram Jawahar Thakur.” They also extended support to the family members: “The Consulate along with other officials and community members met the concerned relatives as well as hospital and police authorities late in the night to assure of all help.”

Vipul, Indian Consular General in Dubai, posted a message on his Twitter account saying: “With great sadness, we inform that Indian fatalities in Dubai bus accident have gone up to 12. Our effort now is to get formalities completed soon so that mortal remains can be repatriated soon.” He said that officials were at the Rashidiya police station and mortuary, extending their help to families.
