On Friday, Mollywood star Dileep announced his new movie titled 'Khalasi'. Unveiling the title poster, Dileep wrote that the movie will be directed by newcomer Mithilaj and produced by Gokulam Gopalan.

If the reports are to be believed, Khalasi is touted to be a historical drama that revolves around the life of Mappila Khalasis of Malabar, Kerala. The movie is expected to feature the lead actor Dileep in a never seen before avatar and will have an ensemble cast including several top stars from the South Indian Cinema industry.

The pre-production works for the movie have already begun. If all goes well, the movie's first schedule will begin in Kozhikode once the lockdown is lifted. Jointly scripted by director Mithilaj, Anuroop Koyilandi and Satheesh, Khalasi will mark Dileep's first collaboration with the popular producer Gokulam Gopalan. It is to be noted that Gokulam Gopalan's last movie was the super hit historical drama Kayamkulam Kochunni starring Nivin Pauly in the lead role.

Dileep was last seen in ‘My Santa’. The actor is prepping up for the release of Nadirshah’s directorial ‘Keshu Ee Veedinte Nadhan’, that features him in an old age avatar paired opposite veteran actress Urvashi.
