It has taken James Cameroon eight years after the Avatar to kick start the sequel, and its not just going to be one sequel, instead the plans are to shoot Avatar 2,3,4 and 5 back to back beating the likes of Lord of rings in shooting movies back to back. The budget is expected to be a whopping $ 1 billion by the entire franchise has been shot.

The four Avatar sequels currently have release dates starting 18 December 2020, the rest coming 17 December 2021, 20 December 2024, and 19 December 2025. When asked about the sequel, the Titanic director mentioned that he is not focusing simply on Avatar 2, but how the story weaves out on to 3,4 and 5.
